I got into the home technology business back in 2001 when Roadrunner, and the ability to have a home network, was just taking off. Around that same time, builders were also starting to put speakers throughout the home as a standard.
I've had a front row seat as the industry progressed from very rudimentary home automation, to systems that were only affordable to the wealthy, to where we are now.
The home technology business is amazing and ever changing. Everything integrates with everything. As a former IT professional and long-time home technology expert, I find myself in the perfect position for this industry.
I love the challenge of designing complex home technology, A/V, and automation systems for very large homes. Everything has to be well planned, starting with the wiring. I take pride in my ability to design and install large-scale systems, and I have many happy clients who rely on their systems to operate flawlessly.
That's not to say I don't enjoy designing and installing home theaters and modest systems. I do. It is my passion, and I enjoy it thoroughly.
Contact me and we can discuss your technology needs.
What separates Rick from the other AV companies?
Ask the owners of the big AV companies if they know the names of their client's kids or pets. They don't. In fact, they probably haven't ever spoken to the homeowners. They have salespeople for that. My homeowners will tell you that it was me with whom they met to discuss their technology needs prior to construction, me that showed up with tools in hand to install it, and me that continues to support them after the sale. There is never any miscommunication between what the salesperson quoted and what the technician installed. Homeowners love the fact that the guy they met with on day one is the same guy that has been onsite every step of the way.
While many small companies look to grow big, I look to grow better. I cherish the relationships I have with my clients. I consider most of them friends. To grow my company to the point where I become an office figure doesn't interest me. My growth will occur one high-quality builder at a time, at a rate which allows me to continue to meet every homeowner and be onsite as much as possible.
